http-(pre-)binding and Apache mod_auth

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to develop an http-binding module which is able to read out the REMOTE_USER environment variable of the apache web server and log's in at the ejabberd server?

Or are there any other solution to use openid or oauth to login with a bosh service?

Any suggestions?
