If you installed ejabberd using the 1.1.3 binary installer, check ejabberd log files. If you have an error like this, you can try the ejabberd 1.1.2 binary installer until the problem is fixed.

I have met the same problem when I installed the ejabberd 1.1.3 with the binary file in the REDHAT ENTERPRISE, then I changed my OS to ubuntu 6.0.6 and everything works fine now.
