ejabberd - Comments for "msn transport on ejabberd-0.9.1" https://www.ejabberd.im/node/279 en (First remark: if PyMSNt https://www.ejabberd.im/node/279#comment-550
(First remark: if PyMSNt suits for you, it is probably better to not spill your time with the old MSN Transport.)

I try to install msn-transport-1.3 but beside the intrutions said "Install MSN transport using jabberd | ejabberd" the installation process ask for jabberd.h file when I run ./configure, so my question is, do I need to have jabber server installed as long as ejabberd server?.

Yes and no. You need some files of jabberd1.4.3.1 (1.4.4 can cause more difficulties to compile the transports!!), but not everything. Normally everything is documented in the <noindex>tutorial I wrote</noindex>: you only need to finish every step (which can be difficult on distributions that differs from Debian as not all will compile very easily...).

I try with PyMSN, I did install Python and all the components, perl module, etc. I start the PyMSN but how I know it is working, I know its running but not sign on ejabberd log file.

<noindex>This tutorial</noindex> is made by badlop, so I can't help with that one.

When star jwchat and loggin into admin user and make click on preference, I don't get the gateway tab. I will like to know if someone have this installed and working ok, and how to do it.

Installed what? The old msn transport, PyMSNt or JWChat?

--
sander
Tue, 14 Jun 2005 23:27:42 +0000 sander comment 550 at https://www.ejabberd.im
