dpkg-reconfigure does'nt do anything

I installed the latest ejabberd .deb package from process-one on my debian 8.2 (jessie) Server.
It is a complete clean install.
Ejabberd installs without any problems, but if i do: dpkg-reconfigure ejabberd
to configure the hostname and adminaccount, i get nothing, the cli is working for a few seconds and then quits doing nothing.

root@srv1 ~ # dpkg-reconfigure ejabberd
<- it is waiting here...
root@srv1 ~ # <- after waiting we are here again..

The Server is a small vps and as said it has had a clean install with debian 8.2 and im logged in as root.
Hope somebody can help me...

In my test, I get no chance

In my test, I get no chance to configure hostname or admin account neither in install or in reconfigure. And when running reconfigure, it gets uninstalled and installed again, as shown in the logs.
