I am fully aware that my idea is quite exotic, however, it may be practical in a way. What I would like to achive is to make users log in with a username different than the beginig of their jid. For example user logs in as jdoe but his jid is .
There at least three reasons i would like do so.
#1 Allow people to use their id/password combination they use for other services.
#2 Make jids look exactly the same as their e-mail addresses.
#3 Last but not least. I would like to avoid exposing their ids to the outside.
