In fact, I get their messages as soon as I start typing. I'm using pidgin under Windows. So.. it sort of works.
I also get disconnected. It might be some kind of firewall issue. But if I stay idle for a bit, the http-bind gets disconnected.
No problems using "normal" 5222 style connections.

When it disconnects, pidgin states "Ping timed out". Again, maybe the "ping" is attempting to use something blocked by firewall (??). But I would thing that would be a problem. With that said, the behavior of not seeing messages send to the BOSH user until they start typing something may also mean the ping doesn't come back unless they type something, which of course, means the ping isn't going to work right.
