Spectrum transport services

Hello all,

as there is not much to read about the relativly new Spectrum transports from http://spectrum.im I want to ask here if there are people who migrated to these services.

For me, the PyXXXt services, especially PyMSNt are a huge pain in the a**. PyMSNt for example is consuming 800GB of traffic per month on my server. Also I have to restart the transports every day (I do this at 3am local time) because they consume more and more memory and processor, especially PyMSNt and PyICQt, but also PyAIMt and PyYIMt.

Spectrum seem to support Jabber-2-Jabber as well, which could give me the opportunity to get away from J2J transport, which is great but in my opinion still in beta or even just alpha stage.

Also nice could be Twitter and Facebook transport.

Maybe some people have some hands-on experience - I would love to hear from you.

Thanks and regards,
Martin

As this is a question that

As this is a question that any Jabber server administrator can reply (not only ejabberd related), if you don't get replies in this forum, you can also post in the JAdmin mailing list, see: http://xmpp.org/about/discuss.shtml

Well, I wanted to hear

Well, I wanted to hear especially from ejabberd administrators because I thought that there might be special things about ejabber and Spectrum.

The same day I just installed Spectrum and after ~2 weeks I'm quite satisfied with Spectrum. Sure, there are some crashes but the project and the programmers are VERY active and try to fix everything right away. Also the transports take a lot less memory and CPU, everything is database based, just great. I'm so happy that I was able to get rid of the old and buggy PyXXXt transports.

Regards,
Martin
