Cannot launch ejabberd 2.1.5 on clean debian lenny (xen)

Hey,

I'm have problems with launching ejabberd 2.1.15 (installed from .bin) on Debian Lenny VM.

fenix:/opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/bin# ./ejabberdctl start
fenix:/opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/bin# ./ejabberdctl status
The node ejabberd@localhost is started with status: started
ejabberd is not running in that node
Check for error messages: /opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/logs/ejabberd.log
or other files in that directory.

Commands to start an ejabberd node:
start Start an ejabberd node in server mode
debug Attach an interactive Erlang shell to a running ejabberd node
live Start an ejabberd node in live (interactive) mode

fenix:/opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/bin# ps aux | grep epmd
root 13850 0.0 0.0 1948 340 ? S 20:38 0:00 /opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/bin/epmd -daemon

fenix:/opt/ejabberd-2.1.5/bin# netstat -lnp | grep 5222
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:5222 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 9435/beam

This machine has a FQDN. Logs attached.

What is wrong?

%%% ejabberd configuration file

%%% Please consult the Guide in case of doubts, it is included in

%%% This configuration file contains Erlang terms.
%%% In case you want to understand the syntax, here are the concepts:
%%%
%%% - The character to comment a line is %
%%%
%%% - Each term ends in a dot, for example:
%%% override_global.
%%%
%%% - A tuple has a fixed definition, its elements are
%%% enclosed in {}, and separated with commas:
%%% {loglevel, 4}.
%%%
%%% - A list can have as many elements as you want,
%%% and is enclosed in [], for example:
%%% [http_poll, web_admin, tls]
%%%
%%% - A keyword of ejabberd is a word in lowercase.
%%% The strings are enclosed in "" and can have spaces, dots...
%%% {language, "en"}.
%%% {ldap_rootdn, "dc=example,dc=com"}.
%%%
%%% - This term includes a tuple, a keyword, a list and two strings:
%%% {hosts, ["jabber.example.net", "im.example.com"]}.
