We are running a private Jabber server powered by ejabberd. It was just set up about a month ago. Prior to that we were on different server software, that I couldn't tell what it was. With the old software, all the buddy pictures were displaying correctly. When we moved to ejabberd, the pictures no longer display in the Mac environment using iChat. They display correctly in Windows 7 using Pidgin. The difference I see between to two is that Windows clients are using .png files while the Mac is using .jpg files. Is there a way to make ejabberd send the files in .jpg also? In talking with Mac tech support, they seemed to indicate that iChat can't interpret .png files correctly. I noticed that there is an installer for Mac OSX on the site, so that seems that there should be Mac support in ejabberd. Is there a setting we are missing?

ejabberd doesn't transcode avatars, so it is completely up to the avatar publisher.
