I'm running ejabberd on ubuntu 11.10, and trying to use it to chat with google talk contacts.
Everything works fine, except that google talk users can't see my presence (I always appear offline). The other way round does work - I can see their online presence.
There's another problem, although that doesn't bother me much and is pretty vague too - every few minutes my client (adium) disconnects from the server, and reconnects in a few seconds.
What can I do?

Maybe you have a firewall that closes idle connections. In that case you can configure the client to send keep-alive stuff, or enable mod_ping in ejabberd.cfg
