about scability

well after a long day configuring ejabbered now works with msn and icq transport.
But know i wanna know how good is the performance of the server running on winxp. scability, stability. Its good enoguh to have many many users?? with a good hardare machine and good conexion.

Note: the benchmarks on the first page does not include e.g. the kernel poll option as mentioned in the third: this should higly improve performance but I don't know it can be used under Windows XP.

Doesn't have to be installed on XP

I would try a Cygwin installation of it on an XP machine. (http://www.cygwin.com) I've had a lot of programs written for Linux / Unix compile on cygwin... It's free so why not?

You may have to look for a lot of dependencies that would already be installed in a normal Linux distribution such as Debian. Then again you could always download a copy of Knoppix and give Linux a shot. Even if you plan on running eJabberd on XP, I don't believe the box that does the testing has to be the same. Who knows you might like Linux ;)

Maybe (I have no experience with Cygwin), but it is probably easier to use the new transports based on Python. There are even some tutorials about them at this website.
