ejabberd 2.1.0 - HTTP-Bind, LDAPS, PubSub 1.12, STUN, Ping, Roster Versioning

ejabberd 2.1.0 is finally released! And it comes with an enormous list of 314 new features, improvements and bugfixes. It has been 21 months since the last major ejabberd release 2.0.0, and 8 months since 2.0.5.

Very brief list of additions:

ejabberd 2.0.5 - Fix subscription management of 2.0.4

ejabberd 2.0.5 has been released. It fixes two problems with subscription requests that affected the recent ejabberd 2.0.4.

As mentioned in the ejabberd 2.0.5 release notes, the changes are:

  • Fix two problems introduced in ejabberd 2.0.4: subscription request produced many authorization requests with some clients and transports; and subscription requests were not stored for later delivery when receiver was offline.
  • Fix warning in expat_erl.c about implicit declaration of x_fix_buff.
  • HTTP-Bind (BOSH): Fix a missing stream:error in the returned remote-stream-error stanza.

ejabberd 2.0.4 - Fourth bugfix release (update)

Update 2: ejabberd 2.0.5 is released to solve the problem with subscriptions.

Update: ejabberd 2.0.4 had a problem with subscriptions. If you are affected, you can use ejabberd 2.0.3, apply a patch or install ejabberd 2.0.5. More details in Problematic ejabberd 2.0.4.

ejabberd 2.0.3 - Third bugfix release

There is a new bugfix release in the 2.0.x line: ejabberd 2.0.3 (announcement).

In the last five months a few bugs were found and fixed. As mentioned in the ejabberd 2.0.3 release notes, the main changes are:

  • Do not ask certificate for client (c2s)
  • Check digest-uri in SASL digest authentication
  • Use send timeout to avoid locking on gen_tcp:send
  • Fix ejabberd reconnection to database

ejabberd 2.0.2 - Second bugfix release

There is a new bugfix release in the 2.0.x line: ejabberd 2.0.2.

In the last three months several bugs were found and fixed. As mentioned in the release notes, the main changes are:

  • Anti-abuse feature: client blacklist support by IP.
  • Guide: new section Securing ejabberd; improved usability.
  • LDAP filter optimisation: ability to filter user in ejabberd and not LDAP.
  • MUC improvements: room options to restrict visitors; broadcast reasons.

ejabberd 2.0.2-beta1 - source code package for beta testing

Announcement of ejabberd 2.0.2-beta1

After several months of fixing bugs in ejabberd 2.0.x, a new maintenance release is planned for the end of this month.

Until then, we still have time to beta test the ejabberd source code. For this purpose ejabberd 2.0.2-beta1 is released.

Notice that this beta is only released as source code package, no binary installers are published now.
